India: Artist breaks world record with longest red ribbon for World AIDS Day

An internationally renowned sand artist has broken a world record by creating the world’s longest red ribbon to commemorate World AIDS Day (WAD). Sudarsan Pattnaik created the 800 feet long (243 metres) and 400 feet wide (121 metres) on the famous Puri beach in the north-east Indian state of Odisha.

Known for using his sand art to raise awareness of political and social issues, Pattnaik also holds the Guinness World Record for building the world’s tallest sand castle.

Pattnaik’s red ribbon was recognized by India’s Limca Book of Records as the longest sand art ribbon. Read more via Gay Star News
