Ukraine: LGBT office is attacked in Kharkiv

The LGBT office was attacked in the Podilskiy valley in Kharkiv, as the press office of the National Police reports.

Information about the incident was received by the Police Department at 9 PM.

According to the preliminary information, unknown in gas masks broke into the place, threw a smoke grenade, used the pepper spray and damaged the organization property. 

Grenades and pepper spray were seized from the crime scene.

Criminal proceedings were opened under Part 2 of Art. 296 ("Hooliganism") Criminal Code of Ukraine. The article provides deprivation of liberty for up to four years.

Reportedly, ambassadors of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Cyprus, Dania, Canada, European Union, Finland, France, Germany, Norway, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Britain and the US called Ukraine for a tolerance for the LGBT community. Read more via 112
